Landis Albert Barbour, 72, died unexpectedly November 3, 2022. He was born April 14, 1950, in Four Oaks, North Carolina (Johnston County), the second son of William A. Barbour and Mary Hudson Barbour.  He was lovingly called "Termite."

A celebration visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Landis graduated from Four Oaks High School, Class of 1968. Following graduation, he worked as a Telecommunications Equipment Installer with Carolina Telephone until retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Varnell) Barbour; daughter, Robin Lynn Barbour and her husband, Jayson W. Webb, of Tarboro; Mother, Mary H.  Barbour of Four Oaks, NC; one brother, William Curtis Barbour and his wife, Margie, of Benson, NC; one sister, Phyllis Creech-Henry, and her husband, Mark, of Fayetteville, NC; nephews; Michael Barbour, Daryl Creech and Shannon Creech; great nephews, Luke Barbour and Austin Barbour; great nieces, Allison Barbour and Erin Creech. He was predeceased in death by his Father, William Albert Barbour.

A memorial service and Interment for Landis will be held at his birth home in Four Oaks, NC at a later date.

Landis grew up playing baseball, riding bikes, barning tobacco, picking cotton, putting model cars together, and later owned, worked, re-built, and painted many of his own cars and trucks.  He especially loved his Corvette. He painted tractor-trailers, trucks and he loved building trailers, many of which he gave away. He loved hunting and fishing and being at the mountains and the beach. Treasured memories were vacation times with Family at Boyd Mountain Cabins; deep sea fishing and tournaments with his fishing buddies (several of which they won); vacation trips with his wife and daughter. He loved carpentry and welding, and working with his hands. He handmade numerous knives with handles out of deer antlers and their leather cases and gave them as gifts to family and friends. Landis loved people and was a charmer. He gave the best HUGS. His smile was infectious. He loved his boots, hats, coffee and cinnamon buns.  He fed squirrels and loved cats and dogs. His latest 4-legged friend was a stray he called "Oscar" which spent time with him on the porch. He also loved beach music. Although small in stature, Landis was bigger than life and had a heart of gold.
