Obituary

Laura Lynn Armstrong, 74, passed away on June 19, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Born October 25, 1951, Laura began her life in the Midwest before moving to North Carolina. Laura was a graduate of Tarboro High School and found her calling as one of Edgecombe County's first class of paramedics, where she poured herself into caring for others when they needed it most.

Laura was known as the one you call when you just need to talk, the one with unyielding love, and the one who never met a stranger. She was her husband's favorite fishing partner and the kind of mom who devoted herself to her family. When she was promoted to her favorite role, MiMi, she flourished as her grandkids' first and forever best friend. Her family was the center of her life and her greatest joy.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Smith Price & Phyllis Jean Widdows Price; her sister, Jane Donner; brothers-in-law, Ken Armstrong and Marvin Eugene Armstrong; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Owens, Mary Ann Armstrong, and Dale Armstong.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Troy Herbert Armstrong; her son, Chris Smith and Lynn; her daughters, Becky Wilson, and Jennifer Dickson and Chip; her beloved grandchildren, Sammi Wilson, Matt Wilson, Clark Thornton, Layla Carter, Lizzie Dickson, and Olivia Dickson; her very special extended family and friends, Alan Smith, Glenn Warren, Amy and Michael Thornton, Crystal and Leigh, and Teresa Harrell; and several nieces and nephews.

Laura's life and memory will be celebrated with a visitation on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Services will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home.
