Whitey Eller of Tarboro passed away at 84 years old on March 22. As a retired 22 year veteran of the Air Force, he also retired from Ericsson Telecommunications in Tarboro. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice; daughter, Donna; sons, Mickey and Tommy; grandsons, Matthew, Bailey, Slater, and Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents Bertha and 'Chub', his brother Ted and his sister Shirley.

Whitey loved time with his family, mentoring the young kids in the neighborhood as '2nd Dad', time at the Pamlico River cottage, golfing, reading, fishing, bowling, and playing cards......especially all the friends he made. Family will receive guests at Carlisle Funeral Home on Saturday, March 31 between 2-3 pm. A Celebration of Whitey's Life will be held Saturday, March 31 at 3 Pm after the family receives friends and guests.
