Lena Ann Wilson, 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

She was born in Edgecombe County on November 2, 1936 to Robert Matthews and Ida Newsome Melton.

She is preceded in death by 2 children, Ann W. Turner and Richard E. Wilson Jr.; and 4 siblings, Peggy Jean Griffin, Margaret Newsome, Joseph (JR Boy) Harrell Tyler, and Hubert (Buz) Ray Melton Jr.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Beverly Winstead and her husband Allan; 3 grandchildren, Craig Williams (Lillian), Richard "Richie" Wilson III (April), and Leeann Whitley (Tyler); 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; sister, Rita Melton Briley; daughter-in-law, Vickie Lynn Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at Carlisle Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Griffin officiating. Visitation with the family starting at 1:00 PM-until service time. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC.
