Leola Griffin Harper passed peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the age of 83. Born in Wayne County on August 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Viola Griffin. She was a retail clerk for a number of years and had a passion for gardening and selling her produce and homemade bread at farmers markets in multiple towns.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Graham, Jack, Herbert, and Joe Griffin.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Harper; son, Ronald Dickson (Brenda); daughters, Brenda Stroud (Joe), Carol (David); grandchildren, Pete Dickson (Elizabeth), Chip Dickson (Jennifer), Lindsay Stroud, Elizabeth Harrison; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lizzie and Logan; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home at 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 23, with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Reverend Sammy Wood and Ronnie Dyson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
