Leon "Bip" Keel 79, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at his home with his family at his side.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022, 2:00 pm, Temperance Hall United Methodist Church with Pastor Sang Park and Pastor Mike Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Leon proudly served his county in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed farming retired after many years of farming in Temperance Hall area. He was a member of The Rurtian Club and Temperance Hall United Methodist Church.

He was born in Edgecombe County to Lee Roy Keel and Viola Cooke Keel, August 11, 1943. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Keel, a granddaughter, Kelly Deal, and his brother, Charles Keel.

Leon is survived by his loving family, including daughters, Donna Deal (Creig), Ann Marie Hurdle (Riley); grandchildren, Megan Deal, Rylan Hurdle, Cora Hurdle; sisters, Elva Norris, Melba Rogers, Joyce Edmondson, and Edna Lamm; sister-in-laws, Barbara Davis, Mary Keel and Janet Tyndall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Temperance Hall United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 13, Pinetops, N. C. 27864.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 6:00  -  8:00 pm and other times at the home  of Leon Keel.
