Lester Gray Baker, Jr., 64, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Known as "Jr," he was the beloved "baby brother" to four sisters and one brother, who lovingly spoiled him. Jr never failed to show up for the people he loved. In his younger years, he could often be found swinging a softball bat or golf club, and as he grew older, he enjoyed playing cards or throwing dice at the table. Hunting and fishing were also lifelong passions, and these hobbies brought him friendships that will be cherished forever. Jr frequently expressed his love through his cooking, especially his famous chicken salad, coleslaw, and banana pudding.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Libbi Baker; daughters, Courtney Weeks (Matthew) and Andi Barefoot; mother-in-law, Sarah Smith; sisters, Beverly Garrett (Dick), Brenda Ellis (Jack), Dianne Harris, and Betty Faye Baker; and grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Melbin, Diego, Miguel, and Grayson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jr was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Melrose Baker; brother, Jesse Baker; brother-in-law, Larry Harris; and daughter, Carol Martinez.

As his grandson Grayson reminds us, "We will see him again!"

Visitation will be 12:00 - 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home with service following in the chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Holden and Darnell Smith officiating the service.
