Lillian Marie Strickland Harrell went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2022 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina at the age of 79.

Marie is survived by her husband, Edgar Norman Harrell of Oak City, NC; daughter, Pattie Dempsey (Greg) and son, Stephen Ray Turner II (Christy) both of Unionville, VA. She has seven grandchildren: Ashley, Meredith, Brooke, Jonathan, Ethan, Hannah, and Kaitlyn as well as eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Morgan, Jillian, Rylan, Liam, Norah, Adeline, and Bentley. Brother, Thad Strickland (Bettie) of Spring Lake, NC.

She is proceeded in death by her father and mother, Lemon and Lillian Strickland; brothers, Lemon, Jack, and Bill Strickland; and sister, Gladys Strickland.

Marie was born on May 21st, 1943 in Martin County, North Carolina to Lemon Cornwallis Strickland and Lillian Marie Mobley Strickland. She married E.N. Harrell in 1979. Marie was an accomplished Beautician who was a salon owner in Tarboro and Oak City, NC. She often spent time at local nursing homes providing residents with hair stylings. She also enjoyed having her grandchildren come spend summers with her and E.N.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at Oak City Baptist Church with lunch to follow at the church. Louis Cook will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Marie Harrell.
