Lillie Ruth Trevathan, age 81, passed away surrounded by family on August 13, 2024, at Edgecombe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Tarboro, NC.

Ruth was born in Edgecombe County, NC, on January 14, 1943, to Woodrow and Hellen Trevathan.  Ruth worked for Seaboard Coffee and Rocky Mount Cord Company for over 30 years doing Payroll and Bookkeeping.  After retirement she spent her time doing, what she loved the most which was helping with her great nephew and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by a sister Margaret Trevathan Cherry and brother Woodrow Wayne Trevathan.

Ruth is survived by her sister Mary Trevathan Currie and husband David, of Tarboro, NC.  Sister-in-law, Sheila Trevathan, of Tarboro, NC. Niece and nephew that she loved like her own children Shannon Trevathan West and husband Kevin West; and Michael Wayne Trevathan and wife Erika Lynn Trevathan; cherished by great nephew Kevin Trey West, and great nieces Sara Grace West, Hailey, Mary Kathryn and Bella Trevathan.

The family would like to thank Caroline Flythe and Dawn Savage with Edgecombe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and staff with Gentiva of Tarboro for all the support and care given.

The family will have a private service later.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to West Edgecombe Baptist Church Attn: Ladies I Sunday School Class 1381 NC-43 Rocky Mount, NC 27801
