On Wednesday, March 13, 2024 Luke Nathaniel Anderson, Jr., known as Lynn, passed from this earth to beyond after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Luke Nathaniel Anderson and the late Maurie Anderson of Leggett, grandson of the late Micajah (MC) Anderson, the late Margaret Thomas Lane Anderson, and the late Dr. James Henry Anderson and the late Susan Weeks Anderson, all originally from Leggett.

He attended Leggett School and North Edgecombe School, was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout. Lynn attended and graduated from Christ Church School in Christ Church, Virginia and attended St. Andrew's University in Laurinburg, NC.

Raised in a family of farmers, Lynn found his destiny in several different fields. He was employed for several years by the North Carolina Medical Society in Raleigh and excelled in counseling members of the medical profession with drug addiction problems. When his mother's health declined, Lynn resigned his job and returned to Leggett to help his mother in her final years. For a number of years, he raised bird dogs and later horses, before his retirement.

Lynn was an outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. He was gregarious and always had a funny story to share with appreciative friends. Strangers who met him could not forget him.  He was a very giving person and Lynn will long be remembered for his generosity and desire to help others.
