Obituary

Lynwood Maxwell Williamson III, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on November 9, 1946, Lyn grew up in a United States Air Force family through his father's military service. After many moves during childhood, he eventually made his home in Tarboro, North Carolina. From a young age, he carried a love of music that would guide the course of his life. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and went on to pursue a career as a musician, where his talent and passion for jazz inspired all who heard him play.

Lynwood's laughter, energy, and love for people made him the life of every gathering, and he carried that joy wherever he went. He especially cherished time spent on the Crystal Coast, a place that brought him peace and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Lynwood Maxwell Williamson II; his mother, Daisy Bardin Williamson; and his sister, Lee Williamson Knox.

Lynwood is survived by his sister, Sandy Williamson Eason, and her husband Scott W. Eason, along with their children Max and Austin. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Bobby Knox, and his children Robby and Bryan.

He leaves behind his three sons, who were the pride of his life:,Woody Williamson and wife Stacey, and their children Kirstyn, Katelyn, Emmy, Max Williamson, Finley Boyd, and Henry Boyd.

David Williamson and fiancée Stephanie Turner, and their children Taison, Talton, Mason Williamson, and Talen Turner. James Williamson and wife Melisa, and their children Alyssa Williamson and Kayla Morgan.,Great-grandchildren: Bowen Denton and Grayson Anderson.

Lynwood's warmth, music, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy of love and song will continue through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome, and memorial donations may also be made to the American Heart Association in Lynwood's memory. A celebration of life will be planned by the family and announced at a later date.
