Madeline Elizabeth Rose, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Carlisle Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Carlisle Funeral Home.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Ray Rose; parents, Elizabeth Etheridge and Jacob Daniels; grandson, Michael Peaden; and sister, Dora Lee Moore.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Brown of Tarboro; grandchildren, Mary Catherine Brown of Tarboro and Mary Elizabeth Peaden of Rocky Mount; and great grandson, Jayden Glover of Wilson.
Madeline was a woman whose life was defined by love, laughter, and the memories she created with those around her. Madeline had a deep love for capturing life’s special moments, often taking pictures to preserve the memories she cherished most. Whether it was a family gathering or a simple day spent with loved ones, she found joy in holding onto those moments forever. A proud attendee of Edgecombe County Public Schools, she carried the values of community and connection with her throughout her life.
Madeline had a love for Elvis Presley, which brought her comfort and happiness. In the kitchen, she truly shined. She loved cooking for her family, but baking was her true specialty, filling her home with warmth, sweetness, and the comforting smell of something made with love. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around, bringing smiles and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her. Above all, Madeline was a family person. She was the heart that kept everyone together, a steady source of love, strength, and unity. She was known for her warm and caring spirit, always putting others before herself and making everyone feel welcome.
Madeline will be remembered as a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, a caring sister, and a loyal friend. Her legacy lives on in the countless memories she created and the love she gave so freely to everyone in her life.
