Marie Stancill Holloman, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Born July 8, 1931 in Pitt Co., she was the daughter of Rufus Garland Stancill and Anna Blanch Walters.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Jesse Holloman; sisters, Annabelle Salamone, Adell Goode, Lucy Morris, Louise Bryant, and Verna Lee Stancill; and brothers, Alfred Lee Stancill, James Rufus Stancill, Linwood Earl Stancill, Rufus Garland Stancill, Jr., Charles Alton Stancill

She is survived by her son, Edward Wayne Holloman (Marsha); daughter, Sandra H. Webb (Thurman); grandson, Edward Wayne Holloman II (Rachel); granddaughter, Kelly W. Harper (Chad); great grandchildren, Landen Holloman, Carson Holloman, Ava Holloman and Noah Harper; sister, Dean Jones; brothers, Guilford Stancill (Linda) Rudolph Stancill (Ruby) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie grew up on a farm with 11 siblings. She learned the value of hard work at an early age. She worked at Glenoit Mills until her retirement. She was a very caring person and loved sharing with others. ReeRee, as she was known by her children and extended family; and MeeMee as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and great granchildren, loved working in her flower beds and vegetable garden. She cooked family dinner every Sunday as long as she was able. Her family will always cherish those times together.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home.
