Mrs Mary Elizabeth "Peaden" Keel, age 86 of Tarboro went to be with Jesus on Friday, October 11th, 2024.

Mary graduated from East Carolina University with a Masters Degree in Education and served as an educator for 31 years. She was also a member of the Genealogy Society. She was a dedicated member of the Temperance Hall United Methodist Church in Pinetops, NC. She was also a member of the Ruritan Club in Temperance Hall.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles (Charlie) Alton Keel, Sr, her father Alvis Eugene Peaden and mother Polly Elizabeth Peaden, her brothers Ernest Franklin, Harvey , Willie, Lonnie, George, David, Marvin, Russell and Amos Peaden.

Mary is survived by her son Charles Alton (Al) Keel, Jr and wife Karen Owens Keel, a granddaughter Ashley Lynn Keel all of Tarboro.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home , Monday, October 14, 2024 from 10 until 11 Am with the service following in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home at 11 Am with the Rev Michael Bryan officiating. The interment will follow in the Edgecombe Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thank you to the staff at The Bridges of Hendricks Creek for their special care and love for Mary, as well as Pruitt Health Hospice and Pallative Care.
