Mary Jane Worrell Strickland went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 25th.

She was born October 16th, 1943, in Tarboro N.C. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Strickland, and by her parents Mary Francis Walston Worrell and Paul O. Worrell.

Mary Jane lived on her grandparents farm in Edgecombe County, NC until the age of thirteen when her family moved to Myrtle Beach S.C. She lived in Henderson County for the majority of her life, including 28 years as a resident at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation facility in Laurel Park.

She is survived by a brother, Chip Worrell of Tuxedo, sister-in-law Ranae, two nieces Stacie (Matthew) and Hannah, two nephews Caleb and Gideon, and a grandnephew Abraham.

Born with cerebral palsy, she nevertheless led a full life. She was known for her smile and strong will. She never backed down from any challenge. She will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on January 6, 2018 at Carlisle Funeral home in Tarboro N.C., friends and family to meet afterwards at Eagles Baptist Church for fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy fund.
