Mattie Ruth Lynch passed away peacefully at the age of 80, at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, NC on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Mattie Ruth was born on September 21, 1940 in Greene County to Leonard and Ruth Edwards.

After graduating from South Edgecombe High School, she later met and married Donald Ray Lynch in 1960.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Uncle Bud Edwards and great-grandchild, Olivia Grace McKenzie.

She is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Donald Ray, son Tony Ray Lynch and wife Rita; daughter Debra Lynn Clark and husband Joe; grandchildren, Kenny Lynch, Jennifer Lynch, Joshua Clark and Matthew Clark. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Lenzie McKenzie and Kinsley Lynch.

Visitation will be at Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday, February 1st from 6 to 8 pm.

A Celebration of Mattie's Life will be held graveside at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2nd with the Reverend Billy Crabtree presiding.
