Our dear mother Maxine Proctor Hurdle sadly passed away on May 11, 2023, at the age of 73.

She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of Tarboro. She retired from the Redevelopment Commission of Edgecombe County and Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Company.

She is predeceased in death by her loving husband, Ed Hurdle, her sister, Mary (Winnie) Alford, and her grandson, Samual Howell.

She is survived by her son, Riley Hurdle (Ann Marie) and grandchildren, Rylan Hurdle and Cora Hurdle. She is also survived by her daughter, Renee Hurdle Howell (Glenn) and grandchildren, Sierra Howell Daughtridge (John), Alexandria Howell, and Steven Howell. She is survived by her great-grandchildren, Claudia and Elizabeth Daughtridge (Sierra), and Ava Mosley (Alexandria). She is survived by her sister, Jeanette Jones (Phillip) and sister, Barbara Wells.

A Celebration of Maxine's life will be held on May 20th at 2 PM in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 until 2:00 PM before the service at the funeral home..

The family will receive visitors at her home on 723 Wellington Lane in Tarboro, NC.
