Nathan Russell Gupton, 74, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Nathan was born on December 11, 1948, in Warren County to William Clyde Gupton and Thelma Thompson Gupton. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sister Mary Ann Gupton Ayscue.

Nate leaves behind to cherish his memories, son, Joseph Gray Gupton and significant other Michelle Doughtie; grandson, Parker Gray Gupton; step granddaughter, Lily Pollard; brother, William Ervin Gupton and wife Willie Gupton; and three nephews, Corbett Gupton, Scott and David Ayscue and Gray's mother, Lucy Tripp.

Nate's love for his family and friends will be missed by all of us. Nate knew no stranger and would always speak to anyone. Nate enjoyed being outdoors, playing cards, old western tv shows, and had the biggest love for country music, feeding his chickens and bonding with his cat. Nate started working in fencing business in the 1980s, and by 1995 opened his own fencing company known as Security Fence Service. In 2019, Nate inherited a new name, known as Papa, when he received his first and only grandson. Nate enjoyed every moment bonding with Parker, playing with him, his grandson was his biggest pride.

The family will receive friends and Family at Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday, January 30, 2023 from the hours of 6 until 8 Pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his grandson Parker Gupton college fund at Providence Bank in Tarboro, North Carolina or the American Cancer Society.
