Obituary

On August 29, 2019, Neil J. Jackson left the cares and worries of this world behind. He peacefully and longingly stepped into everlasting life and into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. No more is he bound to earthly things but resides in eternity.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Jackson. Neil leaves a wonderful and blessed legacy of six children (Mark & Debra Jackson, of Sevierville, TN; Kathleen Jordan, of Gakona, AK; David Jackson, of Tarboro; Gene & Page Long, of Marietta, GA; Bruce & Cheri Dudley, of Newton, NC, and Greg Dudley of Brandon, FL), twelve grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He also leaves a community he loved and cared for, in addition to his fellow parishioners and friends at First Baptist Church, and his buddies in the Golden Kiwanis of Tarboro.

Neil J. Jackson was born and raised in St. Paul's, NC. He served as a highly decorated Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, in WWII. Neil apprenticed and later worked as a Jeweler and Silver Buyer for Galt and Bros., in Washington, D.C. until his retirement. He and wife, Nancy found their way to Tarboro and settled in to spend their remaining  years. Neil was well loved in his community and will be missed dearly.
