Octavia Ann Armstrong James, 71, known to family and friends as Ann, was called home to begin her eternal voyage with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Ann was born August 11, 1952, to Margaret and Roy Armstrong of Tarboro, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her Husband of 54 years, David Earl James, of Pinetops. Son, Michael B. James and Wife Kim; 4 Grandchildren, Amy Casteel (Joseph), Jackson (J.P.) James, Riley James, and Zachary James, all of Pinetops. Sister, Brenda Dickson (Ronnie) of Tarboro. Sister-in-Law, Brenda James of Washington. Nephews, Tee James, Matthew James, Pete Dickson and Chip Dickson and several Great Nieces and a Great Nephew.
Ann began her career, in 1972, as a bookkeeper for Edgecombe Bank & Trust in Tarboro. She continued her career in the Banking Profession and ascended to Vice-President within the BB&T Trust Division, now known as Truist Bank of Wilson, NC.
Ann loved her family and friends dearly and she will be missed greatly by ALL. She loved to shop and was always ready for the next adventure. Ann, David, Family and Friends were blessed to visit many destinations within the United Stated and sailed on multiple cruises and flew aboard many airplanes, to multiple exotic locations abroad.
Special thanks to her sister Brenda Dickson, Pastor Johnny Hendricks, other Family Members, Caregivers, and the ECU Healthcare Team in Tarboro and Greenville, during her lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 6pm-8pm at Carlisle Funeral Home of Tarboro. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Johnny Hendricks on Thursday March 7, 2024, at 2pm at Carlisle Funeral Home followed by Graveside at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
The Family will accept flowers and receive visitors at the home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Pender's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3246 Howard Avenue Extension, Tarboro, NC 27886.
