IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ola Milton
Craft
January 20, 1939 – May 10, 2025
Ola Milton "Buddy" Craft, aged 86, of Tarboro, passed away at home on May 10, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his three wives: Florence Price Craft and Lois Matthews Craft, both of Tarboro, and Annie Best Craft of Wilson.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro at 10 am, followed by graveside services at 11 am, officiated by Dr. John Mark Horrell.
Milton was the last surviving member of his family's generation, preceded in death by his parents, Ola Gus and Pearl Winstead Craft, sisters Belinda Craft Wilson of Lucama and Elsie Bryant Craft of Wilson, and brothers William Earl Craft of Rocky Mount, Hue Carol Craft of Horseshoe, NC, Charles and Thomas Craft, both of Wilson, and Edward Craft of Tarboro.
Growing up, Milton's family farmed for a living, and he often reminisced about the simpler days of farming and enjoying good old-fashioned cooking. As an adult, he worked at several manufacturing plants in Tarboro, including Black n Decker, Polylok, and Sara Lee, and also had a side job cutting yards in Tarboro. Milton was a simple man who loved talking about his church family, his Lord and personal Savior, automobiles, and his favorite TV show, Gunsmoke. He cherished visits to his favorite restaurant, Parker's of Wilson, especially with his special friend, Ms. Pat.
Milton is survived by his children, Elizabeth Craft, Milton Craft Jr., and Ronnie Lee Craft, all of Tarboro; his only surviving aunt, Mamie Esther Weaver of Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces Connie Sue Poling and Carol Craft, both of Rocky Mount, and Kristyn Pendergrass of Sims; and two young men who cared for and loved him as "Gramps," Alexander and Apollos Horrell of Wilson. He also leaves behind his beloved pastor, Dr. John Mark Horrell, along with his church family at Wilson First PH Church of Wilson.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Wilson for their compassionate and loving care throughout Milton's journey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wilson.
