Olivia Corbett Anderson, 83, of Linden, VA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Olivia was born on January 11, 1940 in Tarboro, NC, the daughter of the late Mark Bennett and Annie Deborah Corbett. She was a graduate of Tarboro High School. Olivia's first career was as a dedicated Air Force wife and mother, always creating a warm, welcoming home for her family, wherever they were stationed. This passion for a beautiful home environment was a natural transition to her success as a Real Estate Agent in Fairfax, VA, helping families find their dream home.

Olivia had a life-long love of horses and dogs, particularly large dogs. She was able to indulge her love of horses while working at Al-Marah Arabians in Tucson, AZ, where she also enjoyed working with a local therapeutic riding program for those with special needs.

After returning to Northern Virginia in 1989, Olivia worked as a facility security officer in the defense industry at Digital Systems Resources, which became part of General Dynamics. She later moved to Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, retiring from there in 2015.

Olivia generously contributed to charitable organizations throughout her life. Recently, she focused on supporting humanitarian relief efforts in Central America and the Caribbean: bringing water, electricity and schools, as well as medical supplies, centers and care to communities where these had never existed.

Olivia is survived by her sons, Calvin Curtis Anderson, Jr. (Cherie) of Tarboro, NC and Arrington Bennett Anderson (Sarah Jo) of Whitakers, NC; daughter Stephanie Joy Anderson (Jens) of Basel, Switzerland; grandchildren, Calvin Curtis Anderson, III (Whitney) of Greensboro, NC, Sarah Elaine Anderson (Bradley) of Whitakers, NC, Shaun Patrick Anderson (Krystal) of Richmond, VA, and Bridget Marie Anderson (Krisan) of Smithfield, NC; great-grandchildren, Kaelynn Gray Jones of Whitakers, NC, Noah Thomas Cockrell of Whitakers, NC, and Simon Patrick Anderson of Richmond, VA; and the father of her children, Calvin Curtis Anderson (Christine) of Whitakers, NC; as well as her special niece, Deborah Ellen Glover of Woodbridge, VA and dear friend, Jenifer Madden Phillips of Burke, VA.

In addition to her parents, Olivia is preceded in death by her three sisters, Myrtle Corbett Glover, Betty Gray Corbett, and Maggie Mae Mewborn; and her brother, Don Ellis Corbett.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Tarboro, NC on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm.
