Peggy Perry Haithcock Bingham, 90, of Raleigh, died July 7, 2023 in Tarboro, North Carolina. Her loss will be deeply felt.

Peggy was born in Raleigh September 26, 1932 to Lillian Margaret Perry and Ossie Paul Haithcock.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William David Bingham, her mother and father, her sister Karen Haithcock Miller and her brother Paul Haithcock.

Peggy is survived by her two daughters Karen Lynnette Bingham Harris, (husband Clif ) of Wilmington N.C .and Dana Bingham Alexander of Tarboro. She was the perfect Nana to four grandchildren, Dale Harris Murchison (John) of Wilmington, Kelly Jordan Harris of New York City, William Douglas Alexander III of Raleigh N.C. and Margaret Grace Alexander Marett (Scott) of Kinston N.C. Nana was also the proudest great-grandmother to Eleanor Bingham Marett. Her respect and deep affection was widely held by her family, friends and those who cared for her in her later years.

Peggy graduated from Broughton High School and Peace college in Raleigh. She married David Bingham in Raleigh and they lived their first two years in Bermuda while David was serving in the US Coast Guard. They returned to Raleigh to raise their family. When her health would not allow her to live alone she moved to Tarboro in 2019 where she immediately made friends. She also kept her dear friends from Raleigh. This includes her bridge club friends and friends from her childhood she had held for over 80 years.

A memorial service will be held at St. James Methodist Church, Raleigh N.C. on July 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Interment in the garden will follow.  The family will receive friends after the service.
