Peggy Lee Hathaway, 72 passed away on August 24, 2022.

Peggy was born on February 21,1950 in Edgecombe County to Robert Lee Hathaway, Sr. and Placid Lee Hathaway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lee Hathaway, Jr, sister-in-law Sheila W. Hathaway, brother-in-law John W. Foster, Jr., nephews, Lance CPL Richard D. Hathaway of the United States Marine Corp and Corey J. Pitt.

Peggy leaves behind to cherish her memories her sisters Kathy H. Hale (George) and Lois H. Foster, and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy's love for her family and friends will be missed by all of us. Peggy loved playing the piano in church and loved Jesus very much. She spent eight years in the nursing home. Due to a major stroke the last six years of her life left her with no ability to talk, walk or take care of herself. She may have not been able to talk but it didn't stop her from singing about Jesus. We sung many songs that she played on the piano at church. One of her favorites was Amazing Grace in which we sung almost every day for the last six years. Peggy made many friends at the nursing home, especially these last days her special friends stayed by her bedside just as we did. We loved our sister very much and spent every day with her singing songs and just worshiping the Lord. Even though Peggy could not talk she still was a witness to many people who came in contact with her.

We love you Peggy and we know you are in Heaven with Jesus. So as we said to you every day, "We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck", Love you, Kathy and Lois.
