Obituary

2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

Phillip Douglas "Tito" Craddock, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 25, 2025.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 9:00pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Tito was born on May 17, 1950, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Captain Ira Craddock and Margaret Craddock. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia, and went on to attend James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he was a proud member of the Theta Chi fraternity.

On December 23, 1971, Tito married the love of his life, Sharon Lancaster. Together, they spent five beautiful years traveling and enjoying life before beginning their family. They were blessed with two daughters and one son.

Tito was an extraordinary man — a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone was welcome in his home and to join in on any fun he and his family were having. He had a soft spot for animals and often gave in when his children brought home new pets, wanting to name them all "Fred." Eventually, he had a cat of his own, and naturally, its name was Fred.

Family was everything to Tito. Despite long work hours, he made sure dinner was always shared around the table, filled with laughter and conversation. Saturdays were dedicated to family time — whether spent at home, shopping, or taking drives together. As his children grew into adults, he continued to cherish family moments through vacations, weekly dinners, and watching his grandchildren's games. He loved being chauffeured by his grandkids when they got their licenses and treasured every FaceTime call.

Throughout his career, Tito worked in auto parts and management for several large dealerships, where he excelled and received numerous awards. In 2006, he fulfilled his dream of owning his own parts and service business in Pinetops, where he enjoyed meeting and serving local customers. He retired in 2010 following complications from heart surgery but continued to embrace life with gratitude for what he called his "extra years."

Tito's faith and resilience carried him through many health challenges. He would always say "It is in God's hands." He loved spending time with his wife and family, gardening—especially growing jalapeño, Thai, and cayenne peppers—and sharing his favorite recipes. If your phone went off in the middle of the night you could count on it being him sending a new recipe or an interesting video. Even in his later years, restricted to a wheelchair, he found joy in small but meaningful projects around the house, such as organizing, labeling, and folding t-shirts. He loved gadgets, and taking photos (often catching loved ones with their funniest faces).

Tito was determined, strong-willed, and tough, persevering through every challenge with grace and faith. Above all, he was the best husband, dad, papa, and great-grandpa anyone could ask for. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

Tito is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Sharon Lancaster Craddock; his children Christy Davis (Wayne), Phillip Craddock Jr. (Leslie), and Cyndi Keen (William); and his beloved fur baby, Judy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob Davis (Ashley), Grant Davis (Kayla), Ava Davis, Jordan Craddock, and Colt Craddock; great-grandchild Layton Davis; and his grand and great-grand "fur babies" Gracie and Oliver Keen, Riggs and Murtaugh Craddock, Ruger and Daisy Davis, Xena and Stanley Davis, and Lola and Skylar Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Margaret Craddock; his brothers Richard, Kenneth, and Michael Craddock; and his grandson Dawson Davis.

Tito's legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
