Rebecca Parker Pearce Dickerson, 92, died Tuesday, June 1. She was a resident at The Fountains at The Albemarle retirement community in Tarboro.

She was born in Murfreesboro, NC, on January 18, 1929 to Walter Gary Parker and Thelma Leonhirth Parker.

She was married to James David Pearce from 1947 until his death in 2005. They lived in Raleigh. She was then married to Joseph Q. Dickerson of Murfreesboro from 2009 until his death in 2019.

She is survived by her two sons, James Gary Pearce (Gwyn), Raleigh, NC, and John Frederick Pearce (Sandi), Cudjoe Key, FL.

She was predeceased by her parents; her son, David Kevin Pearce; her daughter, Thelma Rebecca (Cricket) Pearce; and her brother, George Walter Parker, Rochester, NY.

Grandchildren are David Michael Pearce (Christie), Barbara Pearce Tucker (Jason), James Burgwyn Pearce (Lindsay Humbert) and Margaret Carlisle Pearce Dill (Parker).

Great-grandchildren are Cheyenne Pearce, Isaac Pearce, Lily Kay Pearce, Cameron Tucker, Xander Tucker, Daven Pearce and James Pearce.

Funeral will be 2 pm Saturday, June 12 at Murfreesboro Baptist Church. Graveside service will follow at the Ahoskie Cemetery.
