Richard Milton Pridgen, 96, passed away at ECU Health Medical Center on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Macclesfield First Christian Church with service following at 3:00 pm with Rev. Melissa Acres officiating the service. Burial will follow at Macclesfield Cemetery.

Richard was born on December 5, 1927 to the late Charles and Bettie Pridgen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Lee Gay Pridgen; and siblings, Ida Faye Gaynor, James Pridgen, Loretta Maddrey, Tim Pridgen, Phillip Pridgen, Rebecca Powell, Ray Pridgen, Charles Pridgen, and Mabel Weaver.

Richard is survived by his sons, William David Pridgen (Terri) and Richard Milton Pridgen Jr. (Terry); grandchildren, William Jacob Pridgen (April), Christina Pridgen Turner (Scott), Jonathan Murray (Stephanie), Kevin Murray (Danielle); great grandchildren, Everly Kate Pridgen, Holton Brady Turner, Hyatt Greer Turner, Carson Murray, Palmer Murray, Ava Murray, and Addie Perry; siblings, Mary Edwards, Judy Brown, Donna Jones, and Roger Pridgen; and several nieces and nephews.
