Rickey Council Edwards, 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at The Potters House, 1405 W St. James St., Tarboro, NC with Pastor Ray Jones officiating.

Rickey was born in Edgecombe County on November 13,1949 to the late James Walton Edwards and Mavis Nichols Edwards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walton Edwards.

Rickey was retired from Home Beneficiary Life Insurance Company. After retirement he enjoyed farming with his good friend Willie Wooten. He was also retired from the United States National Guard as a Staff Sergeant after 27 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Carolyn Edwards; daughter, Jennifer Walston (Lee); granddaughter, Breanna Walston; great-grandson, Stephen Pittman; brother, Nelson Edwards (Judy); sister-in-law, Mamie Edwards; niece, Amy Edwards; nephews, Greg Edwards and Bill Edwards.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jennifer 201 E. Irwin Street, Pinetops, NC 27864.
