Robert Gester Coker, 85, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021.

Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, Lawrence, N.C. with Reverend Todd Green officiating.

Robert was born in Edgecombe County to Van Buren and Mary Pauline Coker, February 4, 1936. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Doretha Finn Coker, siblings, Loraine Grizzard, Van Buren Coker, Jr. and William Coker. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his loving family, including his sister, Sarah "Sis" Coker Walston; step-daughter, Tassie Curling (Charles) Spring Hope; step-sons, Stanley Finn(Carolyn) Savannah, and Larry Finn, (Joyce) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren Timothy Finn (Tara), Brandy Chine (Nathan), Teresa Finn, Charles Wilson (Cricket), Stanley Finn, Jr (Misti), Amanda Wilson, special friend, Michael; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Lawrence, N.C. and sent to: Karen Johnson, 77 Bass Lane, Tarboro, N.C. 27886.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00–2:00 pm.
