Ronnie Lamar Whitley, 63 passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. Born and raised in Edgecombe county, he is preceded in death by his parents Betty Ruth and James "Frog" Whitley, and brother Steve Whitley. He is survived by his daughter Tracey Swain and wife Jessica, of Plymouth; daughter Harley Lewis and husband Brad, of Macclesfield; sister, Dinah Jackson, of Pikeville; and two grandsons, Liam and Levi Lewis. Ronnie graduated from Tarboro High School in 1980 and furthered his education at Edgecombe Community College, where he studied to become an electrician. He enjoyed taking things apart, fixing them and putting them back together. He liked being outside and had a special love of motorcycles. Ronnie loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, who affectionately called him, 'Pop Pop.' A visitation will be from 11:00 - 12:00 at Carlisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 with service following at 12:00 PM officiated by Rev. Michael Bryan. Following the service, the family will receive friends at 501 W Eason St. in Macclesfield. In lieu of traditional flower sprays, potted plants or hanging baskets may be sent to Carlisle Funeral Home.
