Roy Franklin Lee, 83, peacefully entered the arms of the Lord on May 11, 2026.

Born on December 25, 1942, in Edgecombe County. Roy was the son of Jimmie and Placid Lee. He dedicated 48 years of work to Glenoit Mills where he was an Electrician until he retired in 2005. He was preceded in death by his siblings Calvin Lee, Frances Edmondson, James Lee, Carrie Smith, Teny Hathaway, and Elizabeth Lee.

Roy is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife of 61 years, Peggy Lee; his sister, Margie Rogister; his children, Donna Johnson (Jeremy) and Roy Franklin “Frankie” Lee Jr. (Pamela); his beloved grandchildren, Kristin Griffin (Tyler), Colten King (Ashlyn), Makayla Warren (Cameron), and Marissa Warren (Matthew); and his treasured great-grandchildren, Brantlee, Coleson, Camden, Jaxon, Dalton, and baby girl Nelly.

Roy was a faithful servant of the Lord who loved worshipping and attending services at Northern Boulevard Baptist Church where he was the leader of the choir for 50 years and served as a deacon for over 30 years. He had a deep passion for music and found great joy in playing his guitar and singing alongside his wife, Peggy. Together, they touched the hearts of many through their music and faith.

He also loved the outdoors and could often be found picking up pine cones in the yard, working in his shop, fixing and creating with his hands. Above all else, Roy cherished time spent with his family and loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, love, kindness, and devotion that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral arrangements will be held on Thursday, May 14, at Northern Boulevard Baptist Church. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
