IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rudy Allen
Allsbrook
October 17, 1943 – September 7, 2025
Mr. Rudy Allen Allsbrook age 81 of Tarboro passed on September 7, 2025.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Tarboro Church of Christ with the service following at 2:00 pm. The service will be officiated by Phillip Alligood and Dolan Baker.
Rudy graced us with his presence in Edgecombe County on October 17, 1943. He was the son of Robert Brinkley Allsbrook and Mattie Phillips Allsbrook. He was the baby of six children.
Surviving sister, Johnny Faye Taylor of Tarboro, NC. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Rudy is preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Brinkley "Buddy" Allsbrook of Tarboro; sisters, Nancy Cross, Annette Stout and Melba Allsbrook all of Virginia.
He graduated from Tarboro High School and went to work for Belk's in the shoe department. He went on to work for Carolina Telephone and Telegraph and Sprint from where he retired after 32+ years. He enrolled in the North Carolina National Guard at 21 years old and retired 38 years later with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4.
He was a member of the Tarboro Church of Christ. He served many years as an elder and loved leading the services when asked. There he met, not even realizing she worked at Belk's just a few departments over, his wife, Janice Carson Allsbrook. From there they would marry and just be shy of 16 days of celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary. They have one surviving son, Rudy Allen Allsbrook Jr., followed by two surviving grandsons, Carson Maddox Allsbrook and Davidson Marsh Allsbrook. Also survived by Allen's fiancée, Katherine Graham and three children, Elizabeth, Graham, and Henri, who Rudy loved and cherished as his own. Rudy loved his family and church with all his heart and enjoyed years of tinkering, driving, and the fellowship associated with his antique Model A Cars. He also served as a Mason at the Concord Lodge #58 in Tarboro, NC for over 50 years.
