Ruth G. Lewis, 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 10, in Edgecombe Memorial Park at 3:00pm with the Pastor Ricky Freeman officiating. This sweet lady received her wings today. She was the kind of mama you aspire to be, she loved her family more than anything and they all meant the world to her. She was one of a kind and meant so much to so many people. She was the center piece to this huge nut tree of a family. She was at peace as she had her entire family; kids, grandkids and great grands by her side. Rest easy mama we will miss you beyond measure! She is survived by her loving family which includes her daughters, Rose Etheridge and husband Buddy, Patricia Hale and husband Dennis, Theresa Partain and husband John; sons, Gerald Lewis and friend, Dawn, John Bridgers, Jr. and wife Teresa, Michael Bridgers and wife Tammy; 14 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00-3:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Carlisle Funeral Home, Inc., of Tarboro.
