Samuel Louis Cullifer, Sr., 72, God's Heavenly Servant was called home on February 14, 2019. Sam spent the majority of his adult life witnessing, ministering and leading people to the Lord. Due to sickness of his wife, he had just recently resigned his appointment as minister of Cedar Grove Missionary Church in Wilson, N. C.  He found happiness and joy in serving HIS LORD ALMIGHTY and spending time with his family.

Sam was born in Pitt County on July 1, 1946 to John Cullifer and Clara Sessoms Cullifer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-sibling, Ernest Cullifer, B. E. Joyner, Marvin Joyner, Charlie Joyner and Francis Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Proctor Cullifer; Daughter, Kimberly Cullifer Joyner; son, Samuel Louis Cullifer, Jr.; Grandchildren, Luke Cullifer, Zoe Cullifer and Victoria Joyner.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 17, at 3:00 pm, Carlisle Funeral Home Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home., Tarboro, N.C.
