Sandra Whitehurst Dail, 82 known as "Granny" passed away on January 24, 2026 at ECU Health in Tarboro. Born on October 10, 1943 daughter of the late Russell and Maude Thomas Whitehurst.

In addition of her parents, and all of her siblings she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Willie L. Dail.

When she was able she enjoyed arranging floral designs, decorating birthday and wedding cakes, cooking and baking meals for her family.

She is survived by her daughter Jaxie Dail Williams, of Tarboro. Granddaughters Kelly Starr of Tarboro and Jessica Williams (Justin Wynne) of Louisburg. Great Granddaughter Everleigh Wynne. Brother-in-law Lee Roy Bell Sr. of Tarboro. And sister-in-law Mary Ann Whitehurst  of NJ. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bonus grandchildren Madison Shortt, Bennie Padgett, and Kaleb Bullock.

Preceded in death by sisters Betty Manning, Joyce Hintz, Jean Zachary, Elsie Bell and brothers Thomas Whitehurst and Robert Whitehurst.

Funeral services will be at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday January 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm no public viewing. The service will officiated by Pastor Johnny Hendricks. Following with final resting at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
