Sarah H. Harrell, 94, of Pinetops, passed away Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, at home. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, "Mema," daughter, sister, friend, and follower of Jesus.

Sarah was born July 21, 1929, in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, to Oscar and Smithie Harrell. She gave many years of dedicated service to Westinghouse and ABB, prior to her retirement.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jenniss Ray Harrell; three children Billy Ray (BR) Harrell, Jean H. Harrell, and Johnny Brooks (JB) Harrell; a grandson Michael Brandon Harrell, and 7 of her siblings.

She is survived by her son Rev. Michael Harrell (Joycelynn) of Rocky Mount, her sister Mary Naylor of Pinetops, her grandchildren Jerry Pierce (Beth), Sherry Abrams (Brady), Michelle Harrell, Jessica Owens, and Jenniss Harrell (Kellie) all of Pinetops; Wendy Harrell of Lumberton; Kelly Waller (Shane) of Rocky Mount, and Brooks Harrell (Dana) of Winston Salem along with 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Pinetops Baptist Church, 711 W. Hamlet Street. Pinetops, N.C. with Rev. Randy Smith and Rev. Dennis Harrell officiating.

The family will receive visitors before the service in the church sanctuary from 6:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.

The family would like to publicly thank Gentiva Hospice and our team of caregivers who provided such loving care of our "Mema" in her home the past few months. We would have never been able to navigate this journey without you. You are family to us, and we love you all.

The family will receive visitors at the home of her sister at 3343 NC Highway 42 West in Pinetops. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pinetops Baptist Church or Gentiva Hospice of Tarboro.

Arrangements will be handled by Carlisle Funeral Home of Tarboro, North Carolina.
