Selene Segura Hernández, 51, passed peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Selene was born on September 9, 1973, in Agua Dulce Papantla, Veracruz, Mexico to the late Leovigildo Segura Cruz and Teresa Hernandez Arteaga.  As a young teenager, after the passing of her parents, she moved to the United States to join the rest of her family and to seek a brighter future. She settled in Edgecombe County in the late 1990's, where she was widely known as a devoted wife and mother, who focused on the care of her children and loving husband.

Selene was known to have lots of hobbies, but mostly enjoyed DIY projects and crafts of all kinds.

Selene is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Jorge Garcia Guevara; children, Adolfo Angel Garcia-Segura, Miguel Angel Garcia Segura, Jazmin Itzel Garcia Segura; brothers and sisters, Urbano Segura Hernández, Teresa Segura Hernández, Leovigildo Segura Hernández, Cesar Segura Hernández, Angelica Segura Hernández, Carlos Segura Hernández, Omar Segura Hernández, Ivan Segura Hernández, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday evening, December 5, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, in the Carlisle Funeral Home Chapel, with interment immediately following at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Selene Segura Hernández, de 51 años, falleció pacíficamente el lunes 2 de Diciembre de 2024, rodeada de su amada familia.

Selene nació el 9 de Septiembre de 1973 en Agua Dulce Papantla, Veracruz, México, hija de los fallecidos Leovigildo Segura Cruz y Teresa Hernández Arteaga. Cuando era una adolescente, tras el fallecimiento de sus padres, se mudó a los Estados Unidos para reunirse con el resto de su familia y buscar un futuro mejor. Se instaló en el condado de Edgecombe a finales de los años 90, donde era ampliamente conocida como una esposa y madre devota, que se centraba en el cuidado de sus hijos y su amado esposo.

Se sabía que Selene tenía muchos pasatiempos, pero disfrutaba especialmente de proyectos de bricolaje y manualidades de todo tipo.

A Selene le sobreviven su esposo durante veintiocho años, Jorge García Guevara; niños, Adolfo Ángel García-Segura, Miguel Ángel García Segura, Jazmín Itzel García Segura; hermanos y hermanas, Urbano Segura Hernández, Leovigildo Segura Hernández, César Segura Hernández, Angélica Segura Hernández, Carlos Segura Hernández, Omar Segura Hernández, Iván Segura Hernández y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos.

El velatorio se llevará a cabo el jueves por la noche, 5 de diciembre de 2024, de 6:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. en Carlisle Funeral Home.

El funeral se llevará a cabo a las 11:00 a. m. el viernes 6 de diciembre de 2024 en la capilla de Carlisle Funeral Home, y el entierro se realizará inmediatamente después en Edgecombe Memorial Park.
