IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shannon (Hall)
Messer
March 25, 1981 – January 30, 2026
Celebration of Life
Carlisle Funeral Home
Starts at 7:00 pm
Shannon Messer (Hall) passed away on January 30, 2026 at the age of 44 after a long battle with metastasized stomach cancer.
Shannon was born on March 25, 1981 in Newport News, Virginia to parents Mary Hope and Llyod (Jay) Hall Jr. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Brandon Hall (Amy) and Matthew Hall; her husband, Mark Messer; her children; Julie Messer, Kurt Messer, and Briannah Snell; nephews, Dustin Stalls (Brooke) and Seth Hall; her niece, Rachel Worley (Ryan); and her great nieces and nephews, Lexi Stalls, Carson Stalls, and Charles Worley. She is also survived by her special friends, Crystal Kite and Emily Lindauer whom she considered sisters, along with many friends she loved dearly.
Shannon made friends and family everywhere she went. She also had a great love for animals (as she was a dog groomer before the diagnosis), arts and crafts, skulls, coffee, and anything pink. Shannon constantly went above and beyond for everyone that she met. As a military wife, she was able to meet and help a lot of people. Shannon loved to help not only people, but animals as well.
Shannon was and will continue to be loved greatly by many.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to any animal shelter or the Service League of Greenville In-patient Hospice. The family would also like anyone who would like to plant some tulips in Shannon's honor. Tulips were not only her favorite flower, but they are resilient just like she was.
Instead of a memorial service, the family will be hosting a celebration of life that will be held on March 21, 2026. More information to come.
