Shirley Ann Davenport Etheridge, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM for Shirley on Saturday, June 20, 2020 in Greenwood Cemetery with Lamont Hemminger officiating.

Shirley was born in Edgecombe County on October 1, 1935 to the late Fred Davenport and Effie Lewis Davenport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, H.M. Etheridge Jr.; siblings, J.B. Davenport, Fred Davenport, Ernest Davenport, Robert Davenport, and Ethel Davenport Weaver, George Davenport; nephews, Edmund Davenport, Clinton Davenport, Lee Davenport, Locke Davenport; nieces, Robin Davenport and Laneave Davenport Duncan.

She was survived by her son, Paul Etheridge; one grandson, Brock Etheridge; one great-grandson, Gabriel Etheridge.

Shirley was a loving, protective and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She made many friends as a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and had a long career at Carolina Telephone in Tarboro, NC.
