IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sue Edna
(Abrams) Stalls
June 7, 1947 – March 31, 2025
Sue Abrams Stalls, age 77 went home to be healed in the Lord on Monday March 31, 2025, after a period of declining health due to Alzheimer's. Although we will miss her dearly, we do not grieve without hope and know that we will see her again one day.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Wilson Stalls, children Rodney Stalls (Carol) of Fuquay-Varina, Denise Hull (Aaron) of Zebulon, grandchildren Lauren Davis (Erik), Zach Stalls (Kelly), Jacob Stalls, Kristen Hull, and Connor Hull. She also leaves her cherished great grandchildren Emersyn and Watson Davis along with many special, beloved nieces and nephews.
The youngest girl of eight children, she is survived by her siblings Donald Abrams (Loretta) of Oxford, Jean Abrams of Goldsboro, Billy Abrams (Becky) of Durham, and Carl Abrams (Linda) of Greenville SC.
She is reunited with her parents, Glenn and Edna Abrams, sister Phyllis Burgess, brother Bobby Abrams and his wife Janice, and sister Pat Clark.
Sue was very devoted to her family, a favorite to everyone who knew her. You would often find her talking fondly of her memories growing up with her big, spirited, and competitive family. A nurturer at heart, Sue's life work was spent watching over and caring for others. Whether it was serving school lunches, serving at her church food bank, or watching over countless children through many decades. Sue was also an avid baker, known for her hot banana pudding and her Kongo squares. However, she would be the first one to tell you her best accomplishments were her two children, and ultimately, her five treasured grandchildren. She was blessed enough to know each of them well into adulthood and eventually become a great-grandmother. Though she faced many challenges throughout her life, she was always able to find the laughter in any situation. She carried this trait with her through to the latest months of her life.
Family will receive friends and family from 1-3pm at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro on Friday April 4, with a service immediately following in the chapel at 3. Friends may also visit family other times at Denise's home at 3824 Bella Woods Dr, Zebulon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association at https://donorservices.alz.org
The family would like to give special thanks for Compassionate Guardians and Heartland Hospice for the excellent care they provided in the last several months. We will be eternally grateful for their care of our mother.
