Thurman E. "Sam" Lewis, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 2:00pm, William & Mary Hart Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Leggett, N.C. with Pastor Josh Coker officiating.

Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Lewis;  parents, Johnny Percy and Viola Lewis; siblings, Wesley Lewis, Frances Jordan, Nannie Harrell, Tucker Griffin, Nadine Fisher, Peggy Ashcroft and Buck Lewis.

He is survived by his family, including his daughter, Reece Odom; son, Scott Lewis and his wife, Robin; grandchildren, Blair Carpenter and Clancy Carter, Lindsay Buck, Katie Lewis; 4 great-grandchildren; stepsons, Sammy Woolard and Daryl Woolard; stepdaughters, Debbie Woolard and Susie Thorne; brother, W. F. "Bill" Lewis; and sister, Emma Gibson.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
