Viron Eugene "Red-Top" 55, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 7:30 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home. His cremains will be placed at Edgecombe Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors at a later date.

Viron served his country honorably in the United States Army attaining the rank of Specialist 4. He worked at Carlisle Funeral Home for many years before becoming disabled.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Nathan and Nancy Barfield; brother, Wayne Barfield.

He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Heather Nicole Barfield; grandson, Michael Brandon Light, Jr.; sister, Effie Dale; brothers, Charles and Lee Barfield; sisters-in-law, Lola Barfield and Linda Barfield.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tuesday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
