William Durwood Allen, 86, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Visitation will be 11:00 – 12:00pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Webbs Chapel Baptist Church with the service following at 12:00pm with Rev. Stephen Duncan. Burial will follow at Macclesfield City Cemetery.

Durwood was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Goldie Allen of Macclesfield; brothers, Joseph “Dan” Allen and Wayne Allen of Macclesfield; sister, Glenda Jean; daughter, Vickie Lynn Harrell; and granddaughter, Alexis Lynn Harrell. After 50 years of marriage, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Sister” Jefferson Allen.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Allen York and her husband George Bennett York; grandchildren, Kelsey Eli York and Montana; nieces, Crystal Allen Winstead and husband Kenneth Winstead and their son; Danielle Foster and husband, Timothy Foster and their 2 daughters and son; Tiffany and Aaron Melton and their 2 sons and countless family and friends.
