"Bill" Moseley
December 18, 1938 – January 3, 2023
William "Bill" Louis Moseley (84) of Seaford, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 18, 1938 in Pitt County, NC. He graduated from Belvoir High School in 1957 and served six years in the Army National Guard of Virginia. Highlights from his diverse career included: Dow Chemical Company, Newport News Ship Building and Virginia Natural Gas (VNG). Following retirement in 2000 from VNG, he barbered full-time for another 20 years in Newport News and Williamsburg, VA.
Bill's greatest loves were his family, playing country music on his Fender guitar (inherited from his Uncle Thurman Moseley), manicuring his lawn and visiting car dealerships to chat with the sales team about new car trends and playing the lottery.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia Cobb Moseley; two daughters: Karen Moseley (Charlotte NC) and Angela Moseley Dahir (Wake Forest, NC); son-in-law Hazim Dahir; three grandchildren: Hala, Leila and Zayd Dahir; brother Gene Moseley and wife Gloria (Tarboro NC) and niece Charlene Joyner (Nashville NC) . Additional survivors include one sister-in-law, four brothers-in-law, their spouses and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Allen Moseley and Annie Peaden Moseley; nephew, Allen Ray Moseley and two great nieces Shannon Farmer and Misty Joyner.
A family service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 6th at the Moseley Family Cemetery in Crisp, NC.
