William "Ricky" England, age 70, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 2, 1955, to the late William and Audrey England, Ricky lived a life full of dedication, laughter, and deep love for those around him. He began his career as a third-shift maintenance mechanic at Black & Decker in Tarboro in 1973, and over the years, his strong work ethic and friendly spirit carried him through an impressive 52-year career, retiring from Pfizer (formerly Hospira). Ricky worked alongside countless friends who came to know and love him like family.

Ricky's heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his beloved children, daughter Marybeth England and son William Bradford England (Cindy), and his treasured grandchildren, Brenden and Kristen England, who brought him immense pride and joy. He also leaves behind his dear sisters Brenda Espinosa, Bonnie Brown, and Kathie England, as well as a large and loving circle of cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory with them always.

He is now reunited in peace with his sisters Betty Pulver of Virginia, Mary Linkous of Tarboro, and Sherry England of Tarboro, and his brother Ronald Wayne England of Virginia, all of whom went before him.

A memorial service celebrating Ricky's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, at Carlisle Funeral Home, 701 Hospital Dr, Tarboro. Family and friends are invited to come together, share memories, and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many.

Ricky will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the unwavering love he gave to his family and friends. His spirit lives on in every heart he touched.
