William Wright "Bill" Jefferson passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2020 with children by his side.  He was born on January 28, 1941 in Crisp, North Carolina where he has resided all his life.

Bill graduated from South Edgecombe in 1959.  He worked for Carolina Telephone Company for over 30 years as an Engineer.  Throughout his life he enjoyed playing music, morse code, wood working, computer assembly, rock collecting, scientific experiments, cryptograms, and taking care of his pets.  He loved nature and animals but most of all he loved his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Raynor Jefferson; parents, Willard Moses Jefferson and Margaret Forbes Jefferson; brothers, Willard Forbes "Forbie" Jefferson, Robert Jennings "Bob" Jefferson and sister; Elizabeth Jefferson "Sister" Allen.

Bill was survived by his children; Kimberly Jefferson Sherrod and husband, Tommy of Wilson, and JoAnne Jefferson Crabtree and Sonny of Clayton, and Tony Wright Jefferson and wife Becky of Greenville, grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Cole, Rebecca Lynn Harrell, Hunter Wright Jefferson, Rachel Christine Harrell, Sarah Elizabeth Harrell, Naomi Ruth Harrell and Jackson Moses Jefferson and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends and special Aunt Marie.

A graveside service will be held at Edgecombe Memorial Park on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 2:00.
