William Robert "Bobby" Hobgood Jr. of Pinetops, NC passed away on November 14th, 2025 at the age of 74.

Originally from Pitt County, NC, Bobby was born to the late William Robert and Alma Hobgood at May-Lew Farms on February 13th, 1951. Bobby remained an early riser even after retiring from 50 years of service with Barnhill Contracting Company, where he became the superintendent. You could find him at the farm – working in his shop or tending to his large garden. His vintage cars and motorcycles were a point of pride. He never lost the country boy in him and had a joke for every situation.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Budd Tripp and brother-in-law Benny Tripp. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Voyce Tripp Hobgood; his mother-in-law, Margaret Walters Tripp; his brother, Mike Hobgood and his wife Diane of Farmville, NC,  and a large extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19th from 6:00-7:00pm. A memorial service in his honor will follow. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects.
