William R. "Bill" Piver, 76 passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 12, 2020, 3:00 pm Tarboro First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Bobby Forehand officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Bill retired from Edgecombe County Rescue Squad after 40 years of service and the Tarboro Fire Department as a volunteer fireman. Bill also worked at Carlisle Funeral Home for over 25 years until he became disabled. He was a lifetime member of Tarboro First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Bill never met a stranger and enjoyed having a conversation with anyone at any time. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy Piver and Minnie Felton Piver; daughter, Catherine Piver.

Bill is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, Dawn Woody; grandchildren, Emily McCutcheon, Joshua Woody and Erica Woody; brother, Tom Piver and his wife, Jean Piver.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Saturday, July 11, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and other times at the home of Tom and Jean Piver, 709 Howard Ave., Tarboro.
