Angela Dawn (Lee) Whitfield

“I can fly higher than an eagle, for you are the wind beneath my wings.”

Angela Dawn Lee Whitfield, 51, of Tarboro, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 03, 2021, at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital. She was born August 14, 1969, in Tarboro to Mary Newell Lee and Bobby Allen Lee. She graduated in 2020 with a Degree in Health Information Technology from Edgecombe Community College.

Angela was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife. She found the most joy in raising her daughter and spending time with her family. She would go to the ends of the earth for her daughter and grandbabies.

Angela was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and knack for telling it like it is.

Angela leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Joey Whitfield, her only child, daughter, Brittany Lee and fiancé Stephen Potter, grandchildren, Braylen, Monica, and Madison,  brother, Ernest Newell and wife Cynthia, sister, Anna Nicole Lee, aunts and uncles, Debbie and Dennis Anderson, Molly and George Ginn and Elaine and Buddy Newell, cousins, Jamie Anderson, Debra “Dee Dee” Harrell and husband Ryan Harrell, Charles “CW” Newell, and former spouse, Bruce Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Bobby Lee, and grandparents, Charles and Evelyn Newell.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Carlisle Funeral Home. One of Angela’s final wishes was for attendees to wear bright, beautiful colors, and if possible, limit the amount of black clothing.
