Ann Tyler went to be with the Lord March 14th, 2021. She was born in Leggett, North Carolina to the late Arthur and Annie G. Fountain. She had a loving childhood growing up in Leggett on the family farm as the youngest child of a large, extended family. She moved to Raleigh to work at the Textile School at North Carolina State University and was an avid NCSU Wolfpack fan as she spent her adult life as a long time Raleigh resident.

She is survived by her three daughters: Laurie Smith and her husband Barry, Pat York and her husband David, Fran Robertson and her husband Henry White; five grandchildren, Julia York,

Nash York and his wife Maddie, and Jamie Smith, all of Raleigh, Katheryn Godzwa and her husband Joshua, of San Diego CA, and Braxton Robertson and his girlfriend Hailey Andrews, of

Cary NC, and a great-granddaughter, Lydia. Ann also adored and held precious memories made with her many wonderful nephews, great nephews and nieces and their families. She was

preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Tyler, with whom she loved to dance and travel.

Ann enjoyed life and sharing life resulting in many great friendships. She loved to be on-the-go and could make an adventure out of a dinner outing or a trip for a cup of coffee. She loved to play cards and was a long-time member of several bridge clubs. Ann, loved her home, sports and all the neighbors of her caring neighborhood.

A private graveside service will be held for family at William and Mary Hart Church. In lieu of flowers, Ann requested that memorials be sent to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The family would like to thank Transitions Health Care of Raleigh and the community of sitters and caregivers who supported their mother.

We will miss Ann and her stories of growing up in Leggett. She never missed attending the Almon Fountain Family reunions each year. She would make the trip from Raleigh and would bring Dick Fountain with her. Love and prayers to her family. The next family reunion will not be the same without her.
